The
first thing we'll need to do is create a new image
approximately 125
pixels in length and width.

A square
should have been created. Next press "K" or press the paint bucket tool which is
identical to the button to the right of this paragraph. This tool will fill the background
of the square made in the last step with the foreground color. The foreground color is the
color that is circled in red. By doube clicking on the foreground color you can redefine it
to a color of your choice. If you can't find the window containing the foreground color
then go to window/showtools. The window should come up and you should see
something identical to the screenshot on the right. |

So now
I'm making the
assumption that you have a 125X125 square containing a background color of your choice.
Okay now comes the fun part. Open filter/artistic/sponge |

Press okay and you'll
have a neat texture. Play around with some of the other filters in the "artistic
category and you can make some pretty cool textures like the ones below:
